This region offers due to its special geographical location a variety of hiking and tour options. For this experience far away from the slopes, you don’t need any previous knowledge, just a bit of stamina and a couple Snowshoes , which have a larger stepping area, which reduces sinking into the snow and enables hikes in untouched nature.
Conquer the untouched beauty of nature off the beaten track with snowshoes Slopes and trails .
Enjoy the wonderful winter landscape on a snowshoe hike. Excursions are offered according to the program (see below). You can get more information from your tourist office or at www.hohetauern.at .

Krimmler Achental
Powder snow and peak wind
Exceptionally attractive snowshoe tour in the grandiose high mountain landscape in the Krimmler Achental. A valley transfer takes the participants from the center of Krimml to the Krimmler Tauernhaus. Now the participants hike into the Rainbachtal and finally a little steeper to a worthwhile viewing summit. On the way back you visit the world-famous Krimml waterfalls.

Sulzbach valleys
Original Sulzbach valleys
Winter transforms the Ober- and Untersulzbachtal at the foot of the Großvenediger with its forests and icy watercourses into a fairytale landscape.

Habach Valley
Wildlife observation at the Habach Valley feeding show
In the cold and snowy winter months, red deer and roe deer can no longer find enough food. During this excursion you can find out that feeding is not just feeding and that active wildlife management offers many unexpected facets. An exciting experience for the whole family, because you can watch mighty deer and young calves up close, but still in the wild!

Stubach Valley
High alpine Stubach Valley
The rear Stubachtal invites you to go on a high alpine snowshoe hike. On the way, the participants discover different animal tracks and learn a lot about the animals’ struggle for survival in winter and their habitat in the Hohe Tauern National Park.

Kaprunertal
National Park Gallery tours
The entrance to the Gipfelwelt 3000 on the Kitzsteinhorn is provided by the Cinema 3000 with impressive images of the high alpine nature. Then it goes on in the National Park Gallery, a 360 m long tunnel, in which the formation of the Alps, Tauern gold and crystal treasures, permafrost and technology on the Kitzsteinhorn, and much more is explained.
At the end of the tunnel, the National Park Gallery platform waits for the visitor. Without alpine skills, you are on a par with the highest mountains in Austria.

Rauris Valley
Magical winter experience in Rauris
The snow-covered landscape in the rear of the Rauris Valley invites you to explore it with snowshoes. Great views of the Sonnblick and the Ritterkopf can be enjoyed and with a little luck there is the opportunity to observe wild animals.
